Position Description:
Cottage Country Family Health Team (CCFHT) provides comprehensive, quality team-based primary care for the communities of Bracebridge, Gravenhurst and west Muskoka. Our team of physicians and interdisciplinary health care providers provide support to 25,000 patients in multiple locations. The Executive Director (ED) is a resource to and is accountable to the Board of Directors. The ED supports the board in developing and implementing its long-term strategic direction. The ED is responsible for providing overall management and leadership to service delivery, human resources, financial and information components CCFHT.
Position Responsibilities
- Support the Board of Directors through regular updates on organizational progress with goals and objectives.
- Advise Board of Directors on compliance with relevant legislation, government directives, guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Advise the Board of Directors of local, provincial and federal government policies and/or family health care trends that affect the overall operation and performance of the organization.
- Lead the organization in creating and implementing strategies that ensure outcomes aligned with the vision and strategy set by the board.
- Lead system-level initiatives that advance the role of primary care within the health care system.
- Ensure CCFHT works with health care and community partners, Muskoka and Area Ontario Health Team and Ontario Health in planning and integration of health services.
- Provide oversight to organizational risk management.
- Financial management of the organization including, preparation of annual budget, monitor financial stability and manage expenditures to ensure fiscal viability.
- Oversight to organizational information management systems inclusive of privacy, electronic medical records and digital health integration.
- Manage owned and leased facilities and associated contracts.
- Ensure programs and services reflect the mission and values of the organization, local and provincial health care priorities.
- Provide leadership, guidance and management to CCFHT staff, including human and financial resources through oversight of day-to-day operations of CCFHT.
- Manage human resources in a positive, fair and learning environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in health science program, health care administration or combination education and experience, master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in management level including financial planning, budget management in a health care environment.
- Experience in the field of primary or community health care an asset.
- Knowledge and skill to provide professional expertise and guidance to staff and ability to lead inter-professional teams.
- Experience in effective strategic planning, policy development, quality improvement and proven ability to lead change and implement creative solutions.
- Demonstrated competency in digital health, information technology literacy related to IT infrastructure, software and data sharing for health care efficiency.
- Business management skills in finance, performance metrics and human resources.
- Excellent understanding of the Ontario health care system and local health priorities and needs.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to build, enhance and maintain positive strategic working relationships with local community, health service providers and other stakeholders and to influence decision making and adoptions of change initiatives.
- Demonstrated excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively and respectfully in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to and help motivate teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of population health management, experience enacting and evaluating widespread change to address and improve determinants of health.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Criminal reference check including vulnerable sector check.
Compensation: Annual salary between $108,500 – $124,500 based on experience, participation in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).
